Directions To Heaven

To get to your destination

you have to go the right way

So open up your bible to John 3:16

and hear what it has to say

God loved the world so much

he sent his only son to be the light

So people who are in darkness

might find the way that's right

The bible says we are sinners

and sin must be paid for

So God sent his son Jesus

And on the cross our sins he bore

Just put your faith in Jesus alone

No one else can save

That is God's only way to heaven

Through the sacrifice of his son he gave

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

You only have to look and live

He has already paid your sin debt

When on the cross his life he did give

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jennifer the Nurse

My Jennifer is a good girl, she obeys the Golden Rule

She learned about the Good Samaritan while in Sunday School

When she sees people who are hurt or sick she doesn't think twice

Should I just leave them alone to suffer or should I help and be nice

She cares about the patients at her hospital each day

Because some are hurting badly and cannot find their way

She cares because she is a good nurse and seeks to love each one

And takes care of them so sweetly and tenderly until her job is done

She loves her little boy so much, with many pictures on her wall

That way she will always remember and be often to recall

What a precious child she has and a what a wonderful son

And always remember how cute he was when he was only one

(Jennifer is a nurse who also stops at accidents to help under the Good Samaritan law)

My Grandson Loves The Bible

Tyler comes to Grandma's house

He is a real sweet boy

We always have so much more fun

when he doesn't bring a toy

He likes to make up pretend games

and have fun and play

and give his grandma the directions

of what she is to say

Then he'll think it's funny

and laugh and have a blast

He says "Lets do that again"

and Grandma says "This is the last"

Before he goes to sleep

he likes to read a book

And when he is reading it

to take another look

To see if it's a fiction story

or if it's really true

That way he will know the truth

and stick to it like glue

If it's not a true story,

he'll laugh and say "That's funny"

It could even be a story

about the Easter Bunny

But if it is the one true book,

he will listen with all his heart

Because he wants to hear God speak

and obey him from the start

II Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou has known the holy sciptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation throught faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Wyatt's a happy little fellow

that brings us so much joy

His grandma likes to call him

"a poopoo pants boy"

I love my sweet little grandboy

more and more each day

and I'm always hoping

he'll come over so we can play

Whenever I see him I feel

so happy and blessed

Of all the babies in the world,

I'm sure he must be the best

I love to watch him smile

and laugh and say "googoo"

He's the most lovable baby in the world,

and I really mean it too

A Good Samaritan

A good Samaritan is a person
who sees the need
and takes the time to help out
with many a kind helpful deed
She doesn't turn her head the other way
and act like she doesn't see
but will work all day for the poor and needy
and not even charge a fee
The good Samaritan is willing
to go the extra mile
even to help someone in her family
with a cheerful smile
The good Samaritan's payday will be
with treasures laid up in heaven
as our heavenly father remembers
all the things to him she has given

Luke 10:32 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him.

A Mother's Heart

A godly mother's heart

is with her home and children

though some may mock and say

"Shes just an old mother hen."

She longs to care for her little ones

every morning, noon, and night

and with every new word or new thing learned

she ponders it with great delight

The child carried under her heart for nine months

she can never forget

and when they are growing up

she doesnt want to miss a single little bit

To her it is worth it all to have less wealth

and material things

just to have the great joy that

raising her children brings

To see her children come to know Christ

is the greatest blessing of all

as God rewards her for being faithful

to her motherhood call

My Beautiful Daughter, Kim

I have a real sweet girl named Kimberly Michelle

She always likes to do her many jobs so well

She is a lady who works hard day and night

And serves her family faithfully with all her might

She wakes up early in the morning so busy and in a flurry

And she has so much to do she has to get in a hurry

She takes care of her children and loves them oh so much

She tries to get them good presents and a whole bunch

She loves to play piano and to make it sweetly ring

But you wouldn't really want to ever hear her sing

When life gets rough and she thinks the sky is going to fall

The only thing to do then is just give her mom a call

My Son-In-Law, Jim

There is a man named Jim, a man of many talents

He has a busy life and has so many things to balance

He goes to work each day and does his very best

And when he gets home there is not even time to rest

To him his wife, home, and family are the things that matter most

He puts his heart in all he does and is the best his wife would boast

She says he is the best at everything, whether pool, golf, or softball

And thinks she is the luckiest girl that she married the best of all

I love my son named Jim who married my daughter named Kim

And our family just wouldn't be the same if it were not for him

He is the one who taught us manners and to always say "thank you"

Even if the dinner had too much cheese in it and made him kind of blue

Joey The BMX Racer

There once was a boy named Joey

who liked to ride his bike around the BMX track

as long as he didn't go too fast

and stayed at the end of the pack

He didn't know to win the race

you have to pedal at a fast rate

He was just having a jolly old time

coasting out of the starting gate

His mother didn't know what to do,

she was in total shock

She said to herself

"Oh no, my son is going to be the laughing stock."

No matter what his mom said,

he wouldn't stand up and pedal with all his might

He thought the best thing to do was just sit down

and keep the other racers out front in sight

Granddaughter, Mylee Rose 

Mylee Rose

I know a sweet baby girl

whose name is Mylee Rose

She's as cute as can be

from her head to her toes

I love and adore

my wonderful grandbaby girl

She is so pretty and beautiful,

just like a precious pearl

My Son, Tom

I have a wonderful son named Tom,

the firstborn that I had

We used to have so much fun at home

when he was just a lad

It was so much fun to watch

Mr. Ed on the TV

Oh how much I cherish

the precious memory

Sometimes he'd look out the window and say

"Grandma and Grandpa are here!"

Then everyone in the family got excited

and would let out a great big cheer

He went to the door to greet them,

Grandpa with his cane

And Grandpa would tell him stories

about down memory lane

Tom really loved his grandpa

and wrote stories about him in school

That was his favorite subject to write about

as a general rule

He loves everyone in his family too

and you can always count on him

To always lend a helping hand to those in need,

even Kim and Jim

My Daughter-In-Law, Niki

There once was a girl named Niki

who loved to give a gift

To everyone she loves

and give their hearts a big lift

She labored morning, noon, and night

to make everything right

Just to lift our spirits

and make our lives more bright

She puts a lot of effort and love

in all she does

And the reason for it all is

really just because

She has a great big heart

that wants to give and give

For her this is really

the reason she likes to live

To give each one in her family something

special to remember

And help us to love one another

and to keep our hearts so tender

She has added so much to our family

since she became a Wyatt

And at times when we are crude and rude,

she knows just to be quiet

Reliable and Dependable

I know a man who is

always dependable and reliable

even when called to the tough jobs

that to some seem impossible

He is the team player

who always steps up to the plate

and gets his delivery to its destination on time

without ever being late

This is the man you can always rely on

to work hard with all his might

and sometimes even work

into the late hours of the night

The man’s name is Tom Wyatt

and to be there on time you can count on it

(Tom works for a company called "Reliable and Dependable," which delivers important medical supplies, and is a good hard worker.)

When young I used to go to church
and loved to hear the preacher speak
I longed to learn God's word
and with my heart his will to seek

I listened to the voice of
The Holy Spirit as he spoke
I longed to do my Savior's will
When alone and my spirit broke

I longed to have my loved ones
and my children by my side
I still think it will be worth it all
When I get across that swelling tide

Help me love some people again
Like I used to love back then
The love that the Holy Spirit
put in my heart for my dear kin

Jesus said his mother and brothers
Are they that do his will
With whom the world does not care
But I do love them still

I thank the Lord for all the
times I had at church
for that is where we met
and the Spirit my soul did search

I'm not ashamed to say that
I love that old church bell
For Jesus said "If you love me,"
You'll love your brother as well

 My Family

All of my family members are so special to me

and make my life complete

Our hearts are knit together in love

and at family gatherings we like to meet

I have a deep thankfulness down in my heart

for what the Lord has done

Down through the years I’ve collected

so many precious memories of each one

We’ve had our ups and downs,

but the blessings far outweigh the pain

My family is the best in the world

and always there in sunshine or rain

The Lord in his tender mercy

is the one who has done all this for me

If it weren’t for his love and forgiveness,

our family closeness would never be

A Mother's Love

There is no greater love in this world

and nothing to compare

to a mother who gives all she has for

a child for whom she does care

She spends many sleepless nights

worrying about her child because her love is so great

If her child has a special need

it burdens her heart down like a heavy weight

When the burden is lifted in its time,

it is a time to rejoice

To give God all the glory for his goodness

and praise him with our voice

He hears a mother's cry for help

and does answer prayer

No matter how heavy the burden is

he'll always be there and not give more than we can bear

Let me tell you a story

about a little girl who is real sweet

She brightens up the life

of every one she does meet

She is full of smiles and giggles

and with bubbly joy so full

even when getting

an operation at the hospital

She smiles at nurses and doctors

while laughing and full of glee

so happy to get her eyes fixed

so she can more clearly see

She is an inspiration to all,

each and every one

when at the hospital she says

"This is fun."

There is one more person

in my beloved family

It is a real sweet little girl

named Allie

She used to not know her grandma

very well

But now she is getting used to her

I can tell

She likes to look at grandma

in the face and stare

being as cute as

a little cuddly teddy bear

Her big brown eyes will melt

your heart

and you can tell

she is really bright and smart

I'm waiting for her to grow up a little

and not be so small

So I can play with her longer

before she does for her mother squall

Protection For Grandkids

May God set a barrier of protection

around all my grandkids

For the world is so full of sin

and Satan is making his bids

But God is still greater than all these

and can defeat all foes

Though Satan is full of wickedness

and cast his fierce blows

When at times my heart breaks,

keep each precious child in your hand

Give each one victory over the world

and help them take a stand

May their lives be a beacon and shining light

for you in this dark age

and by your mercy be victorious

in this late hour over all the sinful rage

Help my grandkids stay true and pure

and always to remember your words

May they win the battle over the world,

even though they will seem like odd birds

To remember all the bible stories

My Brother

My heart was so glad and happy

when I saw someone at my door

Though I had seen this person

so many times before

It just seemed so special this day

to see my brother again

I guess it made me realize

how much I loved him

It was only just a half century ago

when I remember seeing him in his cradle

with tiny fingers and toes

The only person in the world that

I’ve known for fifty years.

That’s because he is my brother

And will to me always be so dear

He's given to my grandson

When I see him at the wedding altar

by my daugther stand

I know God brought him into our family
