FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD
A story sweet and wondrous,
Like heav'nly music swells;
In chimings clear to all who will hear,
Ring out the Gospel bells.
For God so loved the world
That He gave His only begotten Son,
That whosoever believeth in Him,
Whosoever believeth in Him
Should not perish,
Should not perish,
But have everlasting life.
When, grieving, brokenhearted,
Because of sin and shame,
We find a joy earth cannot destroy,
Believing on His Name.
Refrain
This love beyond all measure
Of earth or sea or sky,
Could only show its full overflow,
When Jesus came to die.
Refrain
Come, brother, come to Jesus;
His Word was meant for you;
His grace receive, His promise believe,
And sing His praise anew.
Refrain
COME UNTO ME
Come unto Jesus, all ye that labor,
All that are weary, sad and oppressed;
Still He is calling, oh, friend and neighbor,
"Come unto Me, and I will give you rest."
Down thro' the ages, sweetly 'tis ringing,
This word of Jesus, come and be blest;
Sweeter than carols, angels are singing,
"Come unto Me, and I will give you rest."
Bring Him the burden, heavily pressing,
Tell Him the sorrows hid in your breast;
Sin and transgression, freely confessing,
Come unto Him, and He will give you rest.
Refrain
Lose not a moment, haste to your Savior,
Ere the bright day-beams fade in the west;
Asking His mercy, seeking His favor,
Come unto Him, and He will give you rest.
Refrain
Come unto Jesus, Savior and Brother,
Surely you need Him, purest and best;
Truer than father, fonder than mother,
Come unto Him, and He will give you rest.
Refrain
COME, FOR ALL THINGS ARE READY!
Come, for all things are ready! 'Tis a banquet of love;
Here's a free invitation from the Master above:
It is written in crimson, drawn from Calvary's flood,
From the wonderful fountain of the soul cleansing blood.
Oh, what fullness in Jesus!
Oh, what gladness to know,
Though our sins be as scarlet,
He'll make them as snow.
Come, for all things are ready! Heaven's bounty is spread;
Take the cup of salvation, take the life giving bread:
Come, the poor and unworthy, come, though sinful and weak;
'Tis the hungry and thirsty whom the Master doth seek.
Refrain
Come, for all things are ready! Here's a robe, snowy white,
Fairer far than the raiment of the angels of light:
For the beauty of Jesus will thy covering be;
Only ask for this garment, "twill be given to thee.
Refrain
CALVARY'S STREAM IS FLOWING
From that dear cross where Jesus died,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing;
From bleeding hands and feet and side,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing.
Calv'ry's stream is flowing,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing;
Flowing so free for you and for me,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing.
Come, wash the stain of sin away,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing;
Come, where 'tis called salvation's day,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing.
Refrain
For every weary, aching heart,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing;
A tender healing to impart,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing.
Refrain
With life and peace upon its tide,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing;
Sweet blessings down the ages glide,
Calv'ry's stream is flowing.
Refrain
BY GRACE I WILL
Will you go to Jesus now, dear friend?
He is calling you today:
Will you seek the bright and better land,
By "the true and living Way?"
I will, I will! by the grace of God, I will;
I will go to Jesus now;
I will heed the Gospel call,
For the promise is for all;
I will go to Jesus now.
Would you know the Savior's boundless love,
And His mercy rich and free?
Will you seek the saving, cleansing blood,
That was shed for you and me?
Refrain
Will you consecrate your life to Him,
To be ever His alone?
And your loving service freely yield,
To the King upon His throne.
Refrain
Will you follow where the Master leads,
Choosing only His renown,
Will you daily bear the cross for Him,
Till He bids you wear the crown?
Refrain
BRIGHTER ARE THE SUNBEAMS
Brighter are the sunbeams on this day,
O rejoice, heart and voice!
Sweeter buds unfolding by the way,
Telling of the quick'ning life of spring;
Bright sunbeams tell out the story
Of the Easter joy and glory,
And winter's gone -- cold and hoary,
All hail our Victor King.
Hallelujah to our Victor King!
"Go your way," angels say;
Over hill and valley, tidings bring;
The Savior lives for us today.
Hear the message from the leafy bough;
Robins sing, bluebells ring;
Every bud and blossom tells us now
Jesus rose triumphant o'er the grave;
Oh, seek the Lord, though in sorrow,
From the garden gladness borrow,
For after night dawns the morrow;
He cometh forth to save.
Refrain
O, the happy springtime of the soul;
Shadows go, lilies blow;
Jesus makes the wounded spirit whole;
Love is blooming, singing in the heart;
For hope's bright morn is awaking,
Night is passing, day is breaking,
And Christ, His own ne'er forsaking,
Bids every fear depart.
Refrain
BEAUTIFUL WORDS OF JESUS
Beautiful words of Jesus,
Spoken so long ago,
Yet, as we sing them over,
Dearer to us they grow,
Calling the heavy laden,
Calling to hearts oppressed,
"Come unto Me, ye weary;
Come, I will give you rest."
Hear the call of His voice, so sweet;
Bring your load to the Savior's feet;
Lean your heart on His loving breast;
Come, O come, and He will give you rest.
Beautfiul words of Jesus,
Cheering us day by day;
Throwing a gleam of sunshine
Over a cloudy way;
Casting on Him the burden
We are too weak to bear;
He will give grace suffficient;
He will regard our prayer.
Refrain
Beautiful words of Jesus,
Tokens of endless rest,
When, by and by, we enter
Into His presence blest;
There shall we see His beauty,
Meet with Him face to face;
There shall we sing His glory,
Praising His matchless grace.
Refrain
ALL IN THE SILENT NIGHT
All in the silent night,
Numberless angels bright
Came on their wings of light
Thronging the deep blue sky;
Beautiful songs they sang,
Wonderful echoes rang;
Glory to Christ our King,
Glory to God on high.
Glory, glory to God!
Glory, glory to God,
Glory, all glory to God on high!
Let every listening heart reply;
Glory, glory to God!
Glory, glory to God,
Far let the joyful tidings fly;
All glory to God on high!
Join in the song so sweet,
Now with the shepherds meet,
Haste to the Savior's feet,
Worship the Child divine;
Come with the men of old,
Nor let the heart withhold
Aught of its purest gold;
All to the King resign.
Refrain
Broken the shades of night;
Hail to the Dayspring bright!
Spreading the blessed light,
Tell of a Savior born,
Till all mankind shall see
Mercy, so great and free,
Till on earth shall be
Dawn of eternal morn.
Refrain
WHO WILL FOLLOW JESUS
Who will follow Jesus,
Standing for the right,
Holding up His banner
In the thickest fight?
List'ning for His orders,
Ready to obey,
Who will follow Jesus,
Serving Him today?
Who will follow Jesus?
Who will make reply,
"I am on the Lord's side;
Master, here am I"?
Who will follow Jesus?
Who will make reply,
"I am on the Lord's side;
Master, here am I"?
Who will follow Jesus,
In life's busy ways,
Working for the Master,
Giving Him the praise;
Earnest in His vineyard,
Honoring His laws,
Faithful to His counsel,
Watchful for His cause?
Refrain
Who will follow Jesus
When the tempter charms?
Fleeing then, for safety,
To the Savior's arms;
Trusting in His mercy,
Trusting in His pow'r,
Seeking fresh renewals
Of His grace each hour?
Refrain
Who will follow Jesus,
In His work of love,
Leading others to Him,
Lifting prayers above?
Courage, faithful servant!
In His Word we see,
On our side forever
Will this Savior be.
Refrain
SINCE I FOUND MY SAVIOR
Life wears a different face to me,
Since I found my Savior;
Rich mercy at the cross I see,
My dying, living Savior.
Golden sunbeams round me play;
Jesus turns my night to day;
Heaven seems not far away,
Since I found my Savior.
He sought me in His wondrous love,
So I found my Savior;
He brought salvation from above,
My dear, almighty Savior.
Refrain
The passing clouds may intervene,
Since I found my Savior;
But He is with me, though unseen,
My ever present Savior.
Refrain
A strong hand kindly holds my own,
Since I found my Savior;
It leads me onward to the throne,
Oh, there I'll see my Savior!
